Borough of Bergenfield in the northeastern part of New Jersey owns the Tunis R. Cooper Historic Property – March-bank Estate. The structures were constructed in the 1800’s and included a farmhouse, a mill and a couple of barns. Upon the discontinuation of farming, one of the barns served as a chair manufacturing facility. YU & Associates (YU) was retained to perform a Boundary and Topographic Survey, Site Engineering and Utility Design. The mill was scheduled for the addition of handicapped accessible restroom facilities to enhance the utilization of the site. The utility design included the extension of potable water from the farmhouse to the mill. It also included the design of a new gravity sewer between the adjacent houses to service both the farmhouse and the mill. YU prepared construction documents and will assist the owner in the bid process and during construction of the new utilities.
