To accommodate the growing number of visitors to the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center the museum proposed an expansion of the existing facilities. This expansion involves a 28,000 sf addition consisting of the expanded Yogi Berra collections, new lobby, new offices, a library and auditorium, broadcast studio and additional skyboxes. YU & Associates, Inc. (YU) was retained by the museum to be the Civil and Geotechnical Engineer for the planning and design of the project. The proposed expansion requires the realignment of the existing nearby roadway and the reconfiguration of the existing parking lot. Extensive regrading is necessary to accommodate the pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Other site improvements will include the modifications to the nearby baseball stadium entrance plaza, a tent to be used for events and functions and a loading dock.
