Science Building Complex – Phase I

Brooklyn College is part of the City University of New York System. As part of its capital building program to better serve its students, Brooklyn College retained a design team for a new 180,000 to 280,000 square foot science building which is the first phase of a two phase science program upgrade and expansion. As part of this design team, YU & Associates (YU) was retained to perform site/civil engineering design services for the new project.

The design services included preparing utility relocation for existing utilities, new water mains, storm sewers, electric and communication lines. Engineering work included site design, stormwater management, survey, NYCDEP required site connection permit, NYCDOT’s builder’s paving plan and construction support.

YU worked closely with the design team to develop Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) strategies for all site work.
