Kings County Hospital Center proposes to construct an additional seven story structure at its existing campus of buildings. The new space will be a behavioral health center to treat both adult and adolescent patients. YU & Associates (YU) has been retained by the hospital to be the Site/Civil Engineers for the planning and design of the project. The urban location of the project site presents numerous challenges to the overall design, particluarly with respect to coordination and relocation of utilities. Another challenge presented by this project is the need for an innovative storm water management design due to the lack of available space on the site. YU will also assist in obtaining the required regulatory permits for construction from city agencies such as NYCT, the NYCDEP and the NYCDOT.
