Glencoe Mansion is a historical building. It was built in 1871 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places listing in Essex County, New Jersey. The building has 3 floors and a basement. YU & Associates, Inc. (YU) was retained to perform asbestos, lead and other hazardous materials inspection of the building, prior to the proposed reconstruction.
A complete survey of the building interior and exterior was performed to determine presence of hazardous materials. Samples of accessible suspected materials were collected, and analyzed for the presence of Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) and Lead-Based Paint (LBP). YU provided an inspection report with all the detailed information, such as, location, type, quantity, and condition of all the ACMs and LBPs found during the survey. YU also provided recommendations for abatement and cost estimate for all hazardous materials removal within the building. Abatement plans and specifications have also been developed by YU.
