SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Chris H. Akil, P.E., has over 35 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and project management focusing on major transportation and rail infrastructure projects in New Jersey and the greater New York metropolitan area. Mr. Akil provides expertise in traditional project delivery as well as design-build projects.

Mr. Akil focuses on leading and managing projects from concept and feasibility stages through final design and construction supervision. As the lead geotechnical engineer, he oversees the implementation of exploration programs, geotechnical design, development of technical specifications, report preparation and staff guidance. Mr. Akil combines strong technical expertise with practical and common-sense approach to devise effective solutions to complex problems.

Mr. Akil has in-depth knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, local soil conditions and challenges, industry technical standards and geotechnical analytical models. His breadth of expertise and knowledge encompasses a wide range of areas in geotechnical engineering including soil-structure interaction, deep foundations design and construction, retaining walls, slope stability analysis, embankment construction on soft ground, ground improvements, pavement design for roadways and heavy wheel load conditions. Mr. Akil has also served as a geotechnical subject matter expert on several value engineering studies.
