YU is certified to provide hazardous materials (hazmat) and industrial hygiene consulting services. YU’s practice areas in this field include hazmat evaluation, testing, abatement design, construction support, and project monitoring services of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM), Lead Based Paints (LBP), and other hazardous materials such as, PCBs, mercury, mold, and abatement oversight. We provide comprehensive pre-design asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, mold inspections and microbial investigation, indoor air quality testing and remediation monitoring; develop hazardous materials abatement construction documents – drawings, specifications, site specific variances, Workplace Safety Plan (per NYC DEP and DOB requirements) customized for a specific project conditions, perform pre-bid services, conduct air and project monitoring of abatement projects and construction oversight. Our clients are Federal, State and Local Agencies as well as Architectural and Construction Management firms.
